Parent / Legal Guardian Code of Conduct Agreement

As a parent or legal guardian of a child enrolled at Nkhwazi Primary School, you play a vital role in shaping the school community. This Code of Conduct outlines the expectations for parent behaviour in order to support a safe, respectful, and nurturing learning environment for all children and staff.

Commitments

  • I will promote the emotional and physical well-being of all children and staff at Nkhwazi Primary School.
  • I will remember that my child attends Nkhwazi Primary School for academic and moral development.
  • I will demonstrate positive parenting by showing support and respect for all children, staff, and fellow parents.
  • I will support teachers and school staff in creating a positive learning experience for every child.
  • I will encourage my child to treat others—children, teachers, officials, and parents—with respect, regardless of race, creed, colour, gender, or ability.
  • I will treat everyone at Nkhwazi Primary School with dignity, using respectful language, tone, and body language at all times.
  • I will respect and help care for all school property and equipment, both on- and off-campus.
  • I will refrain from using abusive, threatening, or inappropriate language toward any child or staff member.
  • In the case of a dispute involving a child, I will not confront or speak to the child directly without permission from the Head of School, Deputy Head, or their parent/guardian.
  • I will never physically discipline or verbally abuse any child or staff member at the school.

Conduct Subject to Disciplinary Action

The following are examples of behaviour that violate this Code of Conduct and may result in disciplinary action, including suspension from school events, restriction of access to school premises, or involvement of law enforcement if necessary:

  • Making any form of physical contact with a child or staff member.
  • Taunting, threatening, or intimidating children or staff.
  • Entering classrooms or offices in a threatening manner.
  • Using profane, vulgar, or inappropriate language or gestures.
  • Defacing, damaging, or misusing property belonging to the school or individuals within it.
  • Engaging in activities that require police involvement or endanger school safety.
  • Encouraging or inciting others to engage in any of the behaviours listed above.
  • Any conduct that contradicts the rules and values upheld by Nkhwazi Primary School.
