Major Offences D represent grave infractions that may involve criminal behaviour or actions that pose significant harm to individuals or school property. These offences require immediate disciplinary intervention and may lead to suspension or permanent exclusion from the school. Nkhwazi Primary School applies a firm and restorative approach, emphasizing accountability, counselling, and, where necessary, restitution.
1. Theft
- 1st Offence: Verbal warning and counselling.
- 2nd Offence: Written warning to parents and counselling.
- 3rd Offence: Meeting with pupil, parents and Deputy Head for appropriate action.
- Further Action: Suspension or exclusion from school depending on the gravity of the offence.
2. Vandalism of school property
- 1st Offence: Verbal warning and counselling, pupil to repair/replace the damaged property.
- 2nd Offence: Written warning to parents, counselling, and replacement of damaged property.
- 3rd Offence: Meeting with pupil, parents and Deputy Head for appropriate action.
- Further Action: Suspension from school with all procedures observed.
3. Forgery (e.g. forging signatures or documents)
- 1st Offence: Written warning and counselling.
- 2nd Offence: Meeting with pupil, parents and Deputy Head for appropriate action.
- 3rd Offence: Suspension from school.
- Further Action: Exclusion from school.
4. Use or possession of dangerous weapons
- 1st Offence: Immediate confiscation of the weapon and meeting with pupil and parents.
- 2nd Offence: Suspension from school with all procedures followed.
- 3rd Offence: Exclusion from school.
- Further Action: Police involvement if necessary.
5. Arson or attempted arson
- 1st Offence: Immediate suspension pending investigation.
- 2nd Offence: Exclusion from school.
- 3rd Offence: Exclusion from school.
- Further Action: Legal authorities to be informed.
6. Sexual assault or attempted rape
- 1st Offence: Immediate suspension from school with all procedures followed.
- 2nd Offence: Exclusion from school.

7. Bringing the school into serious disrepute through media or public conduct

8. Repeated violation of school policies across multiple categories
