Minor Offences A
At Nkhwazi Primary School, we believe that a positive learning environment is built on clear expectations and mutual respect. Our school rules and regulations are designed to promote discipline, responsibility, and a safe atmosphere for all learners. Please take a moment to familiarise yourself with the guidelines outlined below, including how minor offences are handled and the escalating consequences for repeated behaviour.
1. Violating dress code (hair/uniform)
- 1st Offence: Verbal warning by the teacher.
- 2nd Offence: Written warning to parents.
- 3rd Offence: Disciplinary meeting with parents and Deputy Head.
- Further Action: Barred from class until correction is made.
2. Arriving late for school programmes
- 1st Offence: Verbal warning by teacher and pupil to do homework during break time.
- 2nd Offence: Invite parents for discussion with teacher.
- 3rd Offence: Written warning to parents by class teacher.
- Further Action: Detention at break for a week on detention bench.
3. Failure to do homework
- 1st Offence: Verbal warning by teacher and counselling.
- 2nd Offence: Written warning to parents.
- 3rd Offence: Meeting with pupil, parents and Deputy Head for appropriate action.
- Further Action: Disciplinary meeting and detention of pupil on the bench during break for two days.
4. Disruptive behaviour
- 1st Offence: Verbal warning by teacher and counselling.
- 2nd Offence: Written warning to parents.
- 3rd Offence: Meeting with pupil, parents and Deputy Head for appropriate action.
- Further Action: Disciplinary meeting and detention of pupil on the bench during break for two days.
5. Offensive/racists remarks
- 1st Offence: Verbal warning by teacher.
- 2nd Offence: Written warning and counselling the pupil.
- 3rd Offence: Letter to parents by the Deputy Head teacher and any appropriate action.
- Further Action: Appropriate action by the Deputy Head teacher.
6. Failure to bring appropriate attire/equipment
- 1st Offence: Verbal warning by teacher.
- 2nd Offence: Written warning to parents.
- 3rd Offence: Parents meeting with teacher and any appropriate action.
- Further Action: Meeting with Deputy Head teacher for further appropriate action.
7. Failure to honour Extra Curricular Activities (ECA) without proper reason
- 1st Offence: Verbal warning by teacher.
- 2nd Offence: Written warning to parents.
- 3rd Offence: Meeting with the Deputy Head.
- Further Action: Manual work during ECA as punishment.
8. Eating, drinking and chewing in class
- 1st Offence: Verbal warning and confiscation of the items and a reprimand.
- 2nd Offence: Written warning to parents and confiscation of items.
- 3rd Offence: Meeting with parents, pupil and teacher for appropriate action.
- Further Action: Appropriate punishment by the Deputy Head.

- The School Management will determine disciplinary action for any misbehaviour/malpractice not covered in this document.
- The School reserves the right to institute stricter penalties depending on the gravity of the offence committed.
