Social Offences B
Social responsibility is a core value at Nkhwazi Primary School. We are committed to fostering a safe and respectful environment for every pupil. Social offences such as bullying, dishonesty, or the use of inappropriate language are taken seriously. This section outlines the steps the school takes in response to social misconduct, with a clear progression of consequences based on the frequency and seriousness of the offence.
1. Use of foul language
- 1st Offence: Verbal warning by the teacher. Letter to parents.
- 2nd Offence: Counselling.
- 3rd Offence: Written warning to parents.
- 4th Offence: Barred from class pending disciplinary meeting with parents and the Deputy Head.
- Further Action: Suspension from school for one week with all suspension procedures observed.
2. Use of foul language

- 2nd Offence: Counselling.
- 3rd Offence: Written warning to parents.
- 4th Offence: Meeting with pupil, parents and the Deputy Head for appropriate action.
- Further Offence/Action: Suspension from school for one week with all suspension procedures observed.
3. Bringing the name of the school into disrepute
- 1st Offence: Phone call to parents in presence of the pupil and a warning letter to parents by Deputy Head.
- 2nd Offence: Counselling and pupil to appear before disciplinary committee.
- 3rd Offence: Meeting with pupil, parents and the Deputy Head for appropriate action.
- 4th Offence: The Deputy Head to evaluate the case and take appropriate action.
- Further Offence/Action: Suspension from school with all suspension procedures observed.
4. Bullying, harassment and intimidation
- 1st Offence: Verbal warning and counselling.
- 2nd Offence: Written warning to parents.
- 3rd Offence: Meeting with pupil, parents and Deputy Head teacher.
- 4th Offence: The Deputy Head to evaluate the case and take appropriate action.
- Further Offence/Action: Suspension from school with all procedures observed.
5. Failure to deliver written communication to parents
- 1st Offence: Verbal warning by the teacher.
- 2nd Offence: Counselling of the pupil.
- 3rd Offence: Meeting with parents and the teacher for remedial action.
- 4th Offence: Pupil to do written reminder exercise (e.g. writing, “I will not forget again” 100 times).
- Further Offence/Action: Deputy Head to effect appropriate corrective action.
6. Fighting
- 1st Offence: Verbal warning and counselling.
- 2nd Offence: Written warning to parents and counselling.
- 3rd Offence: Meeting with pupils, parents and Deputy Head for appropriate action.
- 4th Offence: Detention on a bench for 5 days during break.
- Further Offence/Action: Further punishment by the Deputy Head including suspension.
