Communication with parents
At Nkhwazi Primary School, we believe that strong partnerships between school and home are essential to every child’s well-being and success. When parents and teachers work together, pupils benefit from a consistent, nurturing, and responsive learning environment.
Ongoing Communication
We keep parents informed about their children’s progress and school life through a series of structured and informal communication channels. Our goal is to ensure that families feel involved and supported throughout their child’s learning journey.
- Settling-in reports: Issued after the first 4 weeks for all new pupils
- Formal reports: Provided in July and November
- Open Days: Reports are shared and discussed with class teachers in person
Parents’ Involvement in Learning
Our comprehensive reading schemes are closely linked between home and school. While core reading instruction happens in class, children also take home supplementary reading materials to reinforce learning with their families.
This approach not only supports academic progress but also fosters a love for reading and strengthens family bonds through shared learning experiences.
Progress Meetings
Parents are encouraged to take an active role in their child’s development by engaging with teachers. You are welcome to:
- Request meetings with class teachers at any mutually convenient time
- Raise additional queries or concerns directly with the Head of School
We value open dialogue and are always ready to collaborate with parents to ensure each child thrives academically, socially, and emotionally.
